Open Day success
There has been a surge in interest in bowling at the Taunton Deane Bowling Club. Following the re-opening of bowling Clubs after lockdown, Clubs throughout the country have been holding “Open Days”. Taunton Deane, whohosts bowling winter and summer - indoors and out, attracted 54 new bowlers of all ages and 13 new members signed up on the day. Among the visitors on Bank Holiday Monday was ex-Somerset batsman Peter Bowler and his family. All six indoor and outdoor rinks were in use with experienced bowlers helping newcomers to deal with the curving trajectory of the bowls bias. Visitors were able to tour the extensive premises inspecting the two Greens, the reception area, the shop, changing rooms, lockers, restaurant and bar. Visitors have the opportunity to join the other 450+ members of the Taunton Deane Bowling Club.
