INFORMATION ABOUT CLUB COMPETITIONS – WINTER 2025 - 2026

Details of the 2025 - 26 Winter Club Competitions will be displayed on the Club Notice Board and entry forms will be available in the reception area. All entries must be submitted by the stated closing date. A minimum of 8 entries for singles and 4 teams in pairs competitions must be received before a competition can proceed with the exception of Champion of Champions which has no minimum.

Competition Organisation

The Competitions Committee members are Karl Greenhoff, Helen Horton and Keith James. The Committee will be responsible for carrying out the draw for all compettions once the closing date for entries has passed. Further assistance may be requested from other club members as and when required, such as overseeing the draws being made. The draws, once completed, will be displayed on the Competitioins notice board and on the club website.

The programme sheets displayed on the Competitions Notice Board will be updated regularly.

Any disputes must be submitted in writing in the first instance by email to office@tdbowls.com , marking the subject as FAO: The Competitions Committee. It will be discussed appropriately by the Committee, and a decision then made; this decision will be final.

When all the finalists are known, a programme for the finals weekend will be displayed on the Competitions Notice Board. The rink allocation and marker for each final will be displayed on the day of the finals. No player shall play on the same rink twice during the finals, if possible.

Please Note:

Winner of the following winter competitions are required to represent the Club by participating in certain National and County competitions. These competitions are Men’s Champion of Champions & Ladies Champion of Champions.

The Winter Club Competitions are as follows: -

Men’s Singles - Champion of Champions – First to 21 shots

Men’s Singles - Non-Winners – 21 Shots or 2 Hours (closed to indoor singles winners in any club, excluding Clyno)

Men’s 3 Wood Drawn Pairs - 18 ends or 2 Hours

Men’s 3 Wood Clyno (Singles) - 55 points or 2 Hours

Ladies Singles - Champion of Champions – First to 21 shots

Ladies Non-Winners Singles – 21 Shots or 2 Hours (closed to indoor singles winners in any club, excluding Clyno)

Ladies 3 Wood Drawn Pairs - 18 ends or 2 Hours

Ladies - 3 Wood Clyno (Singles) - 55 points or 2 Hours

Open Singles – 21 Shots or 2 Hours

Open 2 Wood Singles - 21 Shots or 2 Hours

New Bowlers Open Singles – 21 Shots or 2 Hours (new to bowling in any club in last 2 years*)

Mixed 3 Wood Drawn Pairs - 18 ends or 2 Hours

Open Aussie Drawn Pairs - 18 ends or 2 Hours

Over 70's Open Drawn Pairs** - 18 ends or 2 Hours

Generation Pairs - 2 sets of 6 ends (If a draw, a deciding end is played)

*For Winter 2025-6 - new to bowling in any club since 30th September 2023

**Must be a minimum age of 70 years old on 30 September 2025

 

All matches should be booked on Bowlr. For Champion of Champions matches a double slot will be applied, and for all other matches a single 2-hour slot. All players should make every effort to complete the full number of ends or points required in the time slot.

 

Note: The final of ALL Competitions will have no time limit.
