GMC Constitution
PURPOSE Under the auspices of the Board of Directors, to organise the sporting activities
of the Club to meet the needs of club Members in accordance with the Articles and Rules of
the Club.
CONSTITUTION The General Management Committee will consist of the following twelve
members: Chairman, Club Secretary, Fixture Secretary, Competitions Secretary, Club
Coach, League Secretary, Catering Manager, Communications Officer, Mens and Ladies
Indoor Captains and Mens and Ladies Outdoor Captains. The Chairman of the Board of
Directors will attend to represent the Board and to update the Committee on Board matters.
Members can be co-opted on to the Committee for specific purposes but once that purpose
is completed will no longer attend the meetings.
RULES
1. Only Full /Annual Members can be appointed to or co-opted on to the Committee.
2. The Committee will hold an Annual General Meeting under the same rules as those
in the Articles of the Club relating to the Business except that all proposals require
ten supporting Members signatures.
3. The Committee will hold a meeting every month whenever necessary.
4. The Club Secretary will circulate the date, time and agenda to members in good time.
5. A quorum will consist of five members.
6. Any application to amend the Rules of the Club approved at a GMC must be sent to
the Board of Directors for it to be considered. It will not come into effect until
considered and approved by the Board.
7. Every member will have a vote on any matter. If there is a tied vote the Chairman will
have a second and casting vote.
8. Co-opted members and the Chairman of the Board will be allowed to speak at
meetings, co-opted members only in relation to the purpose for which they have been
co-opted. They will not be allowed to vote on any matter.
9. The number of co-opted, must not exceed the number of members.
10. Those attending a meeting must sign an attendance sheet and must declare any
interest in any matter on the agenda.
11. Minutes will be taken at every meeting. A copy of those minutes will be kept on file
and one placed in reception for Club Members to read if they so wish.
