Schedule of Fees

Membership and rink fees help keep the club running day to day and ensure the facilities are safe, welcoming and playable for everyone. A significant proportion is used for the upkeep of both the outdoor green and the indoor rinks and surrounds (such as mowing/top‑dressing and seasonal works outdoors, and indoor rink surface care, mat and ditch maintenance, lighting and heating), as well as general building and grounds costs like utilities, cleaning and routine repairs.

Fees also contribute to the club’s essential running costs and external obligations. This can include insurance cover, safeguarding and health & safety requirements, and affiliation/registration costs that allow members to play in leagues and competitions under the sport’s governing bodies.

Where possible, income from fees is reinvested in improving the member experience: coaching and training resources, maintenance or replacement of shared equipment, and support for matches and competitions (for example, scoreboards, measures, jacks/mats and other essentials). This helps the club offer a consistent standard of play and provide opportunities for members to develop their skills.

Finally, the club aims to budget responsibly, setting aside funds for larger planned works (such as green renovations or building improvements) and to maintain a small contingency for unexpected repairs.

Members can expect fees to be managed transparently through the club’s normal financial reporting and governance processes.

Taunton Deane Bowls Club is proudly run by its members, and we’re supported by a wonderful team of volunteers who help with the day-to-day jobs that keep the club welcoming, well cared for, and running smoothly.
